Stendhal Syndrome
Pilar changes from being the simple telephone operator who has been secretly given the mission of taking her boyfriend's ashes to the Himalayas, to becoming a professional assassin, because, as was happening to the author at that time, there was nothing else to do. We have, then, the most beautiful woman in the world turned murderer, perhaps as Borges said in his poem when he saw the tiger: so bloodthirsty and beautiful, he is made for love. But it is not Borges, it is Stendhal who sets the pace in this novel. As almost happened to the French author when he visited Florence, beauty always hurts and can sometimes kill.
